Sillabe di Seta - APS in a nutshell

‘Sillabe di Seta’ is an Italian independent, non-partisan and non-profit association, established in Rome in April 2018. The Association ’Sillabe di Seta’ aims to become a bridge between West and East by facilitating cultural exchanges, study, work and research opportunities in Italy and abroad, scholarships and social inclusion programs, with the overall objective to promote intercultural cooperation.

The Association is a ‘Social Promotion Association – APS’, Third Sector Entity governed by Articles 35 and following of the Italian legislative decree 3 July 2017, n. 117. Among the founding principles of the Association, there are the democratic nature of the structure and the electivity of the board members.

The Association originates from the experiences made within the public school “Convitto Nazionale ‘Vittorio Emanuele II’ of Rome”, which for years has put global citizenship at the center of its curriculum. Francesco Alario, president and co-founder of the Association, has worked at the Convitto Nazionale as coordinator of the international/Chinese high school track and responsible for international projects.

The Association ‘Sillabe di Seta’ promotes exchange opportunities for students and teachers; cultural and training activities; coaching and mentoring programs in Italy and abroad, while carrying out fundraising activities to sustain its institutional activities, scholarships and social inclusion programs, in compliance with the principle of financial transparency and relevant ethical standards.

The Association includes also the “Alumni board” (“Albo degli ex Studenti”) which works as a hub for current and former students of the Convitto Nazionale international high school track, providing networking and career development opportunities, access to trainings and cultural events, enriching and supporting the activities of the Association.
